Ferropolis is situated 20 km from Dessau close to the quaint village of Gräfenhainichen. It once was the hub of the now flooded opencast mining Golpa-Nord. To this day, the peninsula at Lake Gremmin is home to five disused bucket wheel excavators and bucket-chain dredgers, all up to 130 metres long and 30 metres wide.
This exciting assembly comprises the Full Force Festival’s backdrop! From impressive monuments of industrial history to scenic nature and relaxing moments at the shores of Lake Gremmin – in Ferropolis, all visitors get their money’s worth! It is also easily accessible by car, train and airplane with the international airport Halle/Leipzig only 45 minutes away by car. The next train station is Gräfenhainichen from where shuttle buses take visitors to Ferropolis. If you arrive by car, the Bundesstrasse 107 will lead you straight to Lake Gremmin and Ferropolis via Jüdenberg in the direction of Gräfenhainichen.
