Set your escalation controls to maximum. With AKUMA SIX it gets wild! Wherever the five-piece trap metal band from Cologne goes, they leave behind the finest chaos. You never know what to expect next. And when you&#8217;re already getting down on your knees to pay your respects to the long-awaited breakdown with a form-perfect Rittberger, the sound takes such a sudden turn that the jump ends halfway &#8211; and yes, sometimes a bit ungently. The combo doesn&#8217;t dwell on squeamishness for long. Instead, there are fat guitars, booming beats and screeching screams. In 2022 the band poured their style, which can hardly be put into words, into their debut album &#8220;Akuma No Sekai&#8221;. The only thing fans can hold on to is the Japan reference that runs through the entire body of work. Both visually and lyrically, the Cologne-based band live out their fondness for anime to the fullest. In the summer of 2023, the second record of the band is to be released. And how could this new release be celebrated more fittingly than with strawberry punch, shovel wheel excavators and a good-humored FULL-FORCE community? So, AKUMA SIX, brace yourselves, we are ready.

Akuma Six

It&#8217;s a home game for ANNISOKAY – the band from Saxony-Anhalt is back at FULL FORCE! Their album “Aurora”, released in 2021, is praised as a successful step forward and celebrated as a modern state-of-the-art metalcore record by critics all over – despite (or because of) a decent amount of pop that Annisokay falls back on every now and then.

ATTILA set off on a mission to bring fun back to the metal scene. With their explosive energy on stage, the band from Atlanta tightened their grip on the throat of metalcore royalty, becoming an absolute monster in the heavy music world.

What do mechanical engineering, art and crashing industrial metal have in common? Tristan Shone. The self-proclaimed AUTHOR &amp; PUNISHER of hypnotic, droning robot doom rock combines everything in his one-man band AUTHOR &amp; PUNISHER. Without further ado, the San Diego native creates the instruments and sounds himself. And with these tools he hammers us with dreamlike precision. He grabs us and pulls us along into a world where impenetrable heaviness meets an almost celebratory lightness. On his latest melody-landed work &#8220;Krüller&#8221; he delivers eight defiant pieces of machine music that waft dystopian-beautiful. Our engines are already running at full speed when we think of AUTHOR &amp; PUNISHER at FULL FORCE 2023.

Author &#038; Punisher

All good things come from Sweden. In the case of AVATAR, we would immediately sign this statement. The five founding members were just of age in 2016 when their debut &#8220;Thoughts Of No Tomorrow&#8221; was released. The youngsters quickly became a big act in their home country. And also in Germany AVATAR gained a loyal fan base. This may also be due to the high recognition value of singer Johannes Eckerström. With his eccentric clown outfits he remains visually immediately in the memory. In 2020, the Swedes released their latest record, &#8220;Hunterer Gatherer&#8221;. With biting tracks, hymn-like atmospheric parts and rumbling crashers, the record knows how to convince its AVATAR disciples. And in 2023 we can happily proclaim: clear the ring for AVATAR.

Avatar

The name of their hometown, Oulu, sounds like an Hawaiian paradise in the Pacific Ocean. In fact, BLIND CHANNEL come from the much cooler climes of Finland. The six-piece band has been charming their fans since 2013 with a colourful potpourri of post-hardcore, nu-metal and alternative rock. Additionally, they combine electronic elements, rap, shouts and clear vocals. Blind Channel presented Finland at this year&#8217;s ESC with the song &#8220;Dark Side&#8221; from their latest opus &#8220;Lifestyles of the Sick &amp; Dangerous&#8221; &#8211; and after all ended up in 6th place. They will be on stage with us next year. Because Finland and Ferropolis, that&#8217;s striking.

Blind Channel

When the two bloodhounds and KATATONIA musicians Anders &#8216;Balkkheim&#8217; Nyström and Jonas Renkse had the idea for a death-fearing side project, Dan Swanö as well as OPETH frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt were immediately on board. From the red tides of this musical brainwave rose the death metal troupe BLOODBATH &#8211; and released &#8220;Resurrection Through Carnage&#8221;, a befitting debut album, in 2002. Since then, things have been turbulent, especially in terms of the band line-up. The current line-up features PARADISE LOST singer Nick Holmes on the mic. His voice leads us through a zombie inferno full of bones, blood and guts, into a putrid parade of the dead &#8211; and in front of the stage at FULL FORCE 2023. We are looking forward to a musical massacre with hateful growls, catchy riffs and strong hooks.

Bloodbath

Dogs that bark don&#8217;t bite. Does that also apply to BLUTHUND? After all, the four Berlin ruffians come along skillfully biting. On their debut record &#8220;Gekonntes Halbdissen&#8221;, released in 2022, they make it unmistakably clear what the listeners are in for. The combo presents itself as the musical final opponent with a spotless ski mask. With German rap and hip-hop, nu-metal riffs, fat basses and electronic elements, they turn up the mosh pit. In terms of content, they like to put their finger in the wound. And sprinkle a little salt on top. Because for the combo, a political statement is a must. And so they roast &#8220;Finstagram&#8221; and &#8220;Hatebook&#8221;, vigilant neighbors and factory pork roasts, among others. How good that at the FULL FORCE also vegan delicacies delight the palate. There are also no disagreeable neighbors far and wide. But what there will be this year are BLUTHUND. And we hang on their lips.

Bluthund

Names are smoke and mirrors. That&#8217;s what BORN OF OSIRIS thought and changed their band name three times until they ended up with the current title. If this fact hasn&#8217;t made you dizzy yet, you will go completely crazy at the latest when listening to the deathcore sounds of the quintet. And that with enthusiasm. The US-Americans have delighted us most recently in 2021 with their energetic record &#8220;Angel Or Alien&#8221;. Here you can find electronic hooks, surprising bass drops and sensitive vocals alternating with rough parts. The Egyptian god of the dead Osiris would mosh the underworld to the ground with such a tomb music. Just like we&#8217;ll do with FULL FORCE 2023.

Born Of Osiris

For over 20 years, CALIBAN have been making the metalcore stages of this country &#8211; and beyond &#8211; unsafe. With their mix of clear, melodic vocals, hard riffs and even harder shouts in English or German, the five musicians from Hattingen leave us in suspense time and again. But now dark times are dawning. That&#8217;s what the current longplayer &#8220;Dystopia&#8221; promises. They angrily spit their new songs at our moshing feet. And because we love to get a musical neck-slapper from them, CALIBAN have a permanent place on the 2023 FULL FORCE line-up &#8211; and explicit permission to destroy everything with their dystopian sounds.

Caliban

Fluffy macarons, the magnificent Champs-Élysées or Coco Channel &#8211; France is known for many things. But friends of black-metal sounds probably think of one thing in particular when they think of France: CELESTE. The quartet with a penchant for morbid topics was founded in Lyon in 2005. The dark sound of the band is fed by all kinds of borrowings from post-metal and hardcore. This fusion forms a dark musical monster that is difficult to put into words, which quickly made the combo a standard repertoire of the French extreme metal scene. With &#8220;Assassine(s)&#8221; the now sixth album of CELESTE was released in 2022. Behind the enchanting sound of their mother tongue are oppressive, violent pieces. Like lemmings, the band&#8217;s fans throw themselves full of fervor into the ominous doom that CELESTE conjure up with their music. If you want to throw yourself into something at FULL FORCE in view of this black musicianship, we recommend either a 1-liter cup of strawberry punch or the Gremmin lake.

Celeste

After the departure of former singer and founding member Alex Koehler, CHELSEA GRIN readjusted in 2018. With Tom Barber (formerly LORNA SHORE) on the mic, the band has been bringing &#8220;eternal nightmares&#8221; as a trio ever since. At least that was the title of their record released in 2018. On it, the band showed itself more belligerent than ever. With progressive riffs and a wall of guitars and drums CHELSEA GRIN smash out their dark sound. And there will be more of it soon. The first part of their announced double album, &#8220;Suffer In Hell&#8221;, will be released this year. Part II, &#8220;Suffer In Heaven&#8221;, will be released in March 2023, followed by a performance at FULL FORCE in June 2023. Our calendar entries are made.

Chelsea Grin

At the tender age of 15 and 12, Wojciech &#8216;Sauron&#8217; Wasowicz, Waclaw &#8216;Vogg&#8217; Kieltyka and Witbold &#8216;Vitek&#8217; Kieltyka founded their band DECAPITATED in their hometown Krosno in 1996. A year later, 13-year-old Marcin &#8216;Martin&#8217; Rygiel completed the Polish death metal combo. A temporary break-up, a re-establishment and several member changes later, DECAPITATED delighted their loyal fans with &#8220;Cancer Culture&#8221; in 2022. On the record they ignite a metal-like firework of socio-critical lyrics, brute screams, thrashing beats and hammering riffs. This literally screams for a performance at the 2023 FULL FORCE. On stage, ready, go!

Decapitated

DEFEATER saw the light of the hardcore world 19 years ago now. Since then, the Boston-based band has more than earned its place under the spotlight. On a total of five albums, the quintet created a captivating mosaic that demands a lot from its listeners, especially emotionally. The lyrics of singer Derek Archambault seem like self-contained and yet interwoven novels. Over the years, a saga of loss and despair has emerged, carried by a grueling tapestry of sound. Unlike other concept albums, the artistry on DEFEATER does not feel contrived, but highly artistic. The dark world, into which the band leads its listeners ever deeper, most recently on their 2019 self-titled record, is made to get lost in. And because no one gets lost at FULL FORCE, in June we will all embark together on this terrifyingly beautiful journey right into the heart of DEFEATER, who will play their only German show here in 2023

Defeater

An Amsterdam motel, lots of beer and the common passion for music. The founding story of DŸSE is quickly told. The duo consisting of guitar and drums &#8211; bass, who needs bass? &#8211; combines rock, metal, punk, pop, jazz and blues. And just as colorful as the musical influences are the lyrics, which come in German, Spanish, French or English. DŸSE also have a wide range of content. Thus, their lyrics deal with jail experiences, car accidents, drug excesses or social injustice. &#8220;Widergeburt&#8221; is the name of their latest work. The titles on it already sound promising while reading: &#8220;Kuttenwurz&#8220;, &#8220;Prärieauster&#8221; and &#8220;Ameisenhandschuh&#8221; drive a rapturous grin into our faces. The only thing that gives us even more pleasure is their confirmation for FULL FORCE 2023.

DŸSE

They&#8217;ve got the moves and sweep through the country like a hurricane with their Tekkno Train. Not only with their iconic videos, ELECTRIC CALLBOY have written metalcore history. The six rascals from Castrop-Rauxel almost helped Germany win the ESC title in 2022 with their testosterone-filled fitness anthem &#8220;Pump it&#8221;. Their application was rejected, due to them not being &#8220;suitable for radio&#8221;. Nevertheless &#8211; or perhaps precisely because of this &#8211; this did not dampen the success of the party combo with a penchant for excessive disguises. Demolition is the motto of their concerts. Because neither throats nor armpits stay dry. Only one question remains: What&#8217;s next after Workout- and Schlager-Core? Iron-Core, maybe. At least that would fit like a glove on the FULL FORCE eye. Because in Ferropolis in 2023 ELECTRIC CALLBOY will be headlining and blasting all the hits from their number one long player &#8220;Tekkno&#8221; into our ears. We are already electrified.

Electric Callboy

They have come to serve. At least that&#8217;s what the name of EMPLOYED TO SERVE suggests. The five-piece band from Woking in England throws out death metal, hardcore punk, posthardcore and metalcore into a cement mixer. The result is gravity music that even puts bulldozers and concrete mixers into shaking ecstasy. With their record &#8220;Conquering&#8220;, released in 2021, they make beam carriers melt away. The eleven sledgehammer tracks have got everything the metal heart desires: energetic gangshouts, monumental riffs, melodic clear vocals and shrill screams. Therefore EMPLOYED TO SERVE fit like a glove on the FULL FORCE fist. Without a doubt, the combo will be there in 2023 to give us some musical black eyes. The excavator giants in Ferropolis are already circling the shovel wheels in anticipation.

Employed To Serve

Another supergroup? No, not just any supergroup. Because what Counterparts singer Brendan Murphy and producer Will Putney have put together with END sticks to the auditory canals of their hardcore disciples like a rabid fox. For their current split EP &#8220;Gather &amp; Mourn&#8221; End had support from Cult Leader. Resulting in four tracks full of grind, hardcore and death metal, next to which Sauron&#8217;s eye of fire is only a small spark in the middle of a blazing inferno. 2023, End will unleash all their fury on the world in Ferropolis. We say: Bring it on!

When thinking of Portugal, most people think of the Algarve, Lisbon and natural spectacles. We have the dark sounds of GAEREA in our ears. The five Portuguese are no longer an insider tip. They combine their death metal sound with catchy melodies and a pinch of sludge and hardcore. This is also the case on their current longplayer &#8220;Mirage&#8221;. Dissonant passages meet sweeping rhythm guitars, hypnotic hooks and elegiac vocals. Gloom in your face. In other words: the finest FULL FORCE material.

Gaerea

Attention please, a French death metal monster is coming: It listens to the name GOJIRA and has come to drive us out of our minds with its death metal breath. And what GOJIRA sets out to do, GOJIRA accomplishes.  All the quartet needs are hard bludgeoning, clear vocals alternating with edgy roars, grooving rhythms, strong guitars, primal melodies and an escape-proof wall of sound. Oh yes, and a monster-affine audience may not be missing of course. For that we count on you at FULL FORCE 2023!

Gojira

If every blame game sounds like GUILT TRIP, then we&#8217;re only too happy to volunteer as guilty. The quintet, formed in Manchester in 2015, doesn&#8217;t take long to serve us their furious crossover hardcore in &#8220;eat or die&#8221; style on a razor-sharp platter. This is also the case on their EP &#8220;Rain City&#8221;, released in 2021. Like real Jenga pros, they build one breakdown tower after the other. You never know which block will finally bring down the structures. And if the tower doesn&#8217;t fall by itself, the guys are never too shy to reach for the really hard wrecking balls. Either way, the wild riffs, destructive breaks and characteristic crossover vocals are the stuff of mosh pit dreams. Next stop on the MS Dreamboat GUILT TRIP: FULL FORCE 2023.

Guilt Trip

Since 1995, H2O have been shaping the New York hardcore scene with crisp music and socio-critical and autobiographical lyrics. Meanwhile their last album &#8220;Use Your Voice&#8221; is seven years old. High time for something new! But why reach for the stars when good things are so close? Because the records of the cheerful hardcore louts have by no means gathered dust yet. Their highspeed hymns with a lot of skatepunk attitude have never left our auditory canals. And all those melodic sing-a-longs are on the tip of our tongues now as they were then. So we are ready when H2O prove to us at FULL FORCE 2023 that they have &#8220;Nothing To Prove&#8221;.

James Pligge is a beast. Vocally as well as visually. Best conditions for the frontman of the hardcore warhorses of HARM&#8217;S WAY. Founded in 2006 as a side project in Chicago, they quickly developed into a full-time band. Since then, the five US-Americans have been serving us deliciously heavy fare, which is fed by hardcore with death metal and industrial elements. In their tracks, they constantly explore new boundaries of their brute sound. And they mercilessly hit right in the pit of the stomach. In 2021 they released &#8220;Isolation.&#8221; The record comes along with just eight tracks. That&#8217;s all HARM&#8217;S WAY need to turn the mosh pit at FULL FORCE 2023 into a battlefield.

Harm&#8217;s Way

True to the hit &#8220;I will be heard&#8220;, Jamey Jasta has been unmistakably blowing his opinion into our enraptured faces since 1994. The frontman of the US-American frustrated boys of HATEBREED does not think much of empathy. And exactly for this destructiveness the fans know and love the band. Short crunchy songs, shredding guitars and an extremely aggressive and at the same time groovy-melodic hardcore are the trademarks of the quintet from Connecticut. In 2020, they slapped their latest work of art &#8220;Weight Of The False Self&#8221; in front of us. On it, the band is as angry as ever. Just the right attitude for FULL FORCE 2023.

Hatebreed

After several singles and an EP, HERIOT finally delivered their debut album &#8220;Profound Morality&#8221; in 2022. The four-piece British combo relies on burning vocals, shrill shouts and manic solos. Metalcore, industrial, death and doom metal are combined to form a musical jackhammer that mows down everything in its path. Every now and then, melodic vocal interludes give a glimmer of hope &#8211; and those who are willing to listen can take a breath. Nevertheless, the brute force of the band remains unbroken. Are they too strong or are we too weak? Let&#8217;s find out: at FULL FORCE 2023.

Heriot

Started in 2005 as a one-man project, IGORRR has since grown into a musical quartet. The head of the combo is still founding father Gautier Serre. The Frenchman combines black metal with folk or baroque with trip hop, creating a sound that is as fascinating as it is unique. Singer Laure Le Prunenec delivers either extreme screams or operatic tones. In 2020, the band released &#8220;Spirituality And Distortion&#8221;, another insane publication. Among others, Cannibal Corpse growler George Fisher can be heard on 8-bit music. The 14 tracks are the purest white-water ride through a rip current of conflicting emotions. Unpack your water wings, because in 2023 the IGORRR freighter will stop in Ferropolis.

Igorrr

Hunting witches, ringing bells or wandering on twilight paths &#8211; INSOMNIUM are not at a loss for unusual hobbies. The main thing is gloomy. With their melodic death metal, the five Finns skillfully balance between deafening harshness and harmonious calm. What always resonates is this special Finnish melancholy. And whenever sadness threatens to overwhelm you, INSOMNIUM hold a little glimmer of hope in front of our noses. Four years have passed since their last album. Fans have long been pawing their mosh-happy feet for new music. A plea that the band seems to have heard: Soon the brand new disc &#8220;Anno 1696&#8221; will be released. The concept album is based on a short story by bassist and singer Niilo Sevänen and deals with nothing less than famines and witch hunts. With Death and Destruction the band hits the usual morbid notch in terms of content. We are sure that their performance at FULL FORCE 2023 will be anything but sepulchral silence.

Insomnium

Within a short period of time JINJER have gained a remarkable standing in the metalcore scene worldwide. While the band from the Ukraine was still considered exotic in 2019, we are happy to welcome the quartet around singer Tatiana Shmailyuk with their mix of metalcore, death metal, djent and groove (driven by a good portion of anger) as an established artist at FULL FORCE 2023.

Jinjer

KONVENT’s debut album Puritan Masochism covered the metal scene like a black veil in 2020. The band that was founded 2015 in Copenhagen dedicated itself to the blackest and most crushing facets of life with its blackened deathdoom. The result: One of the strongest doom debuts ever. After they had to cancel their show at short notice last year, we are even more excited to see them at FULL FORCE 2023!

Konvent

Neck pain is literally part of the deal with KUBLAI KHAN TX. When the four Texans make their hardcore hail pour down on us, our heads can&#8217;t help but rhythmically snap back and forth. Whether you have short or long hair, minipli or mullet, at the end of a concert no strand will sit on top of the other, even with tons of hairspray. In 2019, KUBLAI KHAN TX gave us their latest headbutt with &#8220;Absolute.&#8221; Here, one brute riff follows the next. Breakdowns and angry one-liners round off the aggro ensemble. We already quite boldly put neck pillows on the packing list for FULL FORCE 2023.

Kublai Khan TX

LIL LOTUS has cut off his wings. At least the Texan presents himself as a fallen angel on his album cover &#8220;Errør Bøy&#8221;. But John Villagran, as his real name is, has done a lot of things right. The best example is his debut album, which was released in 2021. It is bursting with pop-punk gems. The musician stumbles from one romantic disaster to the next, sings about the infamous &#8220;Girl Next Door&#8221; and takes us to the rooftops that mean the world. And because the life of LIL LOTUS is full of stories to tell, he continues to make music diligently. Gladly also together with music colleagues as on the single &#8220;all my friends&#8221; released in 2022. His appearance at this year&#8217;s FULL FORCE will be a real pleasure. Summer, sun, punk and Yeah!

Lil Lotus

What the five guys from Oakland bring into our ears, continues to inspire even 18 years after the band was founded. Back then and today, LIONHEART measure their songs in degrees of hardness where even stainless steel is left behind. In December the lionheart troop presented their latest work of art &#8220;Welcome To The West Coast III&#8221;. Besides HATEBREED frontman Jamey Jasta, Ice-T from BODYCOUNT and MALEVOLENCE singer Alex Taylor will be heard with guest vocals. Our ears are already fluttering with anticipation &#8211; for the album, but especially for the performance at FULL FORCE 2023. We welcome the band with curried manes &#8211; at our favorite West Coast: the Gremmin lake. Strong as lions.

Lionheart

Fortunately the term &#8220;Heavy Metal&#8221; is very broad &#8211; because the sound of LOATHE is, too. Clattering drumlines, shrill guitar and a grunting voice meet clear riffs, calm appearing choruses and a lot of reverb effect!
You&#8217;d think the band is as varied as a box of chocolates &#8211; as much as you enjoy the nut nougat filling of one variety, the more violent the hammer of the unmistakable fruit brandy filling hits you right in the face!

Loathe

1 +1 = MANTAR. The sludge metal duo from Bremen likes it puristic. Drums and guitar, that&#8217;s all the North German combo needs to send their fans into ecstasy. Their self-proclaimed goal: just to scrap. And they do that with the help of simple melodies, rhythms and riffs. Without any blast beats or double bass, MANTAR have been mixing up the scene since 2012. Their new album &#8220;Pain is Forever and This is the End&#8221; was released in 2022. On ten tracks, they beat us with poisonous vocals and booming guitars to communicate their world-weariness. We can look forward to such melodious tracks like &#8220;Piss Ritual&#8221; or &#8220;Hang &#8216;Em Low (So The Rats Can Get &#8216;Em)&#8221; at FULL FORCE 2023.

Mantar

Are you meshuga, I asked? We are not, but they are. And by this we mean our thrash metal heartthrobs from MESHUGGAH. They are crazy about good music and put everything they can get their hands on into a high-performance mixer. Among the favorite ingredients of the five Swedes are death metal, jazz and progressive metal. Guitar riffs are repeated until listeners seem to slip into other states of consciousness, only to be brought back down to earth by the bass. MESHUGGAH are not easily accessible even on their latest opus &#8220;Immutable&#8220;. And they don&#8217;t want to be. What do we want? MESHUGGAH at the Full Force 2023! And we love it when a plan works out.

Meshuggah

MILKING THE GOATMACHINE are two men who stare at goats &#8211; and who go by such sonorous names as Goatleeb Udder and Goatfreed Udder. Drummer and shouter the one, guitarist and bassist the other. And to top it all off, they are also brothers. Live, the siblings get support from guitarist Tony Goatana and bassist Joe Anus Hornlicker. Not because they need it, but the more goat head masks on stage, the better. And as it is proper for a grindcore band, MILKING THE GOATMACHINE shoot blatant vocals, fast drums and furious lyrics from their goat machine cannon. This year they culminated it all in the form of their new record &#8220;Nach uns die Grindflut&#8220;. Because yes, the duo is also never at a loss for puns. Why should they, with such terrific creations like &#8220;Stallhalla&#8221; or &#8220;Ist der Huf erst ruiniert&#8221;. We are already looking forward to a &#8220;skimmed milk Mambo&#8221; at FULL FORCE 2023.

Milking the Goatmachine

It is not getting quiet with MIMI BARKS. Both in the figurative and in the literal sense. Long ago the musician has successfully stepped out of the underground. Musically, she mixes metal with industrial, trap and adds a load of rap-scream on top. She serves us this doom-trap cocktail iced, for example, on her 2022 EP &#8220;ABYSS&#8221; &#8211; but only to dump it right in front of our stomping feet. MIMI BARKS doesn’t only pick apart the genre with her unique style, but also drives us straight into the pit with her aggressive lyrics. And in 2023 MIMI BARKS will give us hell at FULL FORCE.

Mimi Barks

Mass appeal metalcore with a creepy factor is the trademark of MOTIONLESS IN WHITE. The five musicians from Scranton, Pennsylvania, delivered their latest work in 2022 with &#8220;Scoring The End Of The World&#8221;. And here they throw everything the genre has to offer into the scales: Blastbeats, breakdowns, synthesizers and virtuoso riffs. Chainsaw brutality alternates with painful fragility. The stuff that metalcore dreams are made of. And at the next FULL FORCE, this dream will become a live reality.

Motionless in white

One and one equals: NOVA TWINS. The duo consisting of the two Brits Amy Love and Georgia South combines grime, punk and hip hop to their distinctive sound. With hard bass runs, rough guitar riffs and synth elements, they conquered the English underground scene like a tornado, taking everything with them that wasn&#8217;t nailed down to the ground. Once they reached the surface, they quickly made it clear who wears the pants and has the biggest balls. The two take particular aim at toxic masculinity. Loud, provocative and unyielding, NOVA TWINS stylize themselves as self-appointed poltergeists to the worst nightmares of patriarchal structures and their representatives. This can be heard on their LP &#8220;Supernova&#8221; released in 2022 &#8211; or at FULL FORCE in 2023.

Nova Twins

Since 2020, Tobias Rische, former frontman of Alazka, has been on the microphone with NOVELISTS FR. Here, he roars, growls and sings his heart out &#8211; and perfectly complements his four band colleagues. NOVELISTS FR was founded in Paris in 2013 with singer Matteo Gelsomino and ex-guitarist Charles-Henri Teule. The latter was replaced by Pierre Danel in 2022. In the new formation, the combo created a true metalcore monster full of driving hooks, hard breaks and hefty sounds with &#8220;Déjà Vu&#8221;. And that&#8217;s what they&#8217;ll unleash on us in Ferropolis in 2023.

Novelists FR

Good music is a virtue. Especially when it comes from OF VIRTUE. The virtue is already in the name. That must mean something. The five musicians have been mixing up the metalcore scene since 2009. Started in Michigan, they have long since become a big name on the other side of the pond. With brute breakdowns and furious riffs they serve us metalcore par excellence. Their latest work of art &#8220;Sinner&#8221; saw the light of day in 2022. And if you can believe the title, they have enough of the eponymous virtue. A sin? Not at all. Because the combo is still musically on the right track. At most, it would be a sin to miss the five guardians of virtue at FULL FORCE 2023.

Of Virtue

Ever heard of Fukuoka? If not, then we should change that as soon as possible. Because the city on the Japanese island of Kyushu is the home of the metalcore powerhouse PALEDUSK. When the five musicians pack their suitcases, they end up with a wild mix of nu metal, industrial, EDM and metalcore. In 2020, they invited us to a special kind of talk session with their EP &#8220;Happy Talk&#8221;. Instead of diplomatic negotiating skills, the quintet takes their counterparts here with electronic drum breaks, heavy riffs, powerful vocals and punky elements in the wringer. Everyone leaves this musical therapy session with a broad grin. So loosen up your facial muscles already and put on your finest joker smile. See you at FULL FORCE 2023 in the moshpit at PALEDUSK.

Paledusk

PALEFACE SWISS describe themselves as „Switzerland’s finest heavy music” – and we can only agree. The band from Zurich blasted into our ear canals so brutally at FULL FORCE 2022 that we couldn&#8217;t help but invite them again for 2023. Even though PALEFACE feel most comfortable in (beatdown) hardcore, the guys often show off influences from slam and nu metal acts like Slipknot. One topic that is especially important to these guys is mental health, which they deal with in their music in intense and often extreme ways. No light fare but definitely a recommendation on the FULL FORCE menu!

Paleface Swiss

When PAPA ROACH first saw the light of day in 1993, they swung onto an imaginary board and rode the nu-metal megawave of the time with the predatory destructiveness of a wild school of swordfish. With their unmistakable sound, the four US-Americans around frontman Jacoby Shaddix anchored themselves firmly in the ears of their fans. To fully become a fixed DJ inventory on pretty much every nu-metal playlist, they reached for the musical ambidextrous &#8220;Last Resort&#8221;. In 2022 they provided us with new ear balm with &#8220;Ego Trip&#8221;. And it puts fans of the earlier years in just as much ecstasy as friends of the rather poppy sound of the recent records. So there&#8217;s something for everyone when the cockroach dads hit the stage at FULL FORCE 2023.

Papa Roach

PETROL GIRLS are blazing their way through the scene with feminist punk rock. Since 2012, the four London musicians have been on the road as support acts and headliners. And they always show a clear edge: against capitalism, racism, sexual violence and for saving the climate. In 2020, the quartet reformed and lost none of their original spirit. On the current record &#8220;Baby&#8221; they are as snappy as ever. They want to stir things up, provoke and reverberate. With their middle fingers extended, they will tread the fireproof boards that mean the FULL FORCE world in 2023.

Petrol Girls

A dash of Djent here, a bit of fast-pacing there, and always on the highest technical level. More and more, the five-piece POLARIS from Sydney catch up with their fellow countrymen Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction.

Polaris

One EP, two studio records and one live album are the achievements of RISE OF THE NORTHSTAR. The Nu-Thrash-Frenchmen always max out their repertoire. Why release something new when the old is so good? Their fans agree and celebrate the five-piece band for their preference for groove metal, hardcore and rap metal of the 90s. This mixture is performed with the finest macho attitude. With RISE OF THE NORTHSTAR there are big balls as far as the eyes can reach. The LP &#8220;The Legacy of Shi&#8221;, which was released in 2018, also stands for wide-legged hardcore. The eleven tracks offer gangshouts, groovy sounds, catchy hooks, in short: lots of mosh pit potential. And we&#8217;re incredibly happy to exploit that at FULL FORCE in 2023.

Rise Of The Northstar

The five guys from Dresden from RISK IT! are always taking risks, which is why they are taking their time with a new record and instead simply play their way through their current discography. Included is the most recent EP &#8220;Era of Decay&#8221; that was released in 2019. And it presents itself much heavier and angrier than the previous releases. In best slaughterhouse manner they go to work roughly, without regard for losses or feelings. Maybe they&#8217;ll have a new opus ready for us by 2023. Either way, the soles of our shoes are sharpened and we are ready to risk everything in the mosh pit.

Risk it!

As if guitarist Daniel Haniß didn&#8217;t have enough on his plate with Electric Callboy, he quickly founded another metalcore project in 2021. It is called SAMURAI PIZZA CATS and unites Sebastian Fischer (Fall Of Gaia), Stefan Buchwald (formerly Fall Of Gaia) and Stefan Reufer (formerly Eleven Years). They describe their style as &#8220;CatCore from Castrop&#8221; for which they mix metalcore with deathcore and electronic elements. So far, the catophile group has released a few singles, an album is in the works. How fitting that there is still some time until FULL FORCE 2023. The perfect time for a release.

Samurai Pizza Cats

What doesn&#8217;t fit, is made to fit. This seems to be the motto of the cheerful SKINDRED. Because the Welsh combine musical styles like others combine noodles in their alphabet soup. With hip hop, reggae, funk, punk and metal, the band brings together fans of different genres &#8211; a different kind of international understanding. And it works very well. Blissfully, the listeners jump side by side towards the next hookline. In 2018 SKINDRED released their latest longplayer &#8220;Big Tings&#8221;. As on the six predecessors, the fleshed-out Durazellhasen are bursting with energy here. In addition to anthemic elements, where fan choir lovers have their true joy, the band presents in surprising turns again and again hard punchlines, which bring their listeners back down to earth. SKINDRED do one thing above all: fun. And because we can never get enough of it, we hand over the helm to the rogues on the FULL-FORCE glee freighter. Full speed ahead.

Skindred

By the masked London rock collective SLEEP TOKEN we actually like to be deprived of sleep. With a spherical sound carpet, which is broken by hard breaks, the melancholic clear vocals and the rather genre-unusual use of piano and organ, the band knows how to affect and carry you away at the same time. On the record &#8220;This Play Will Become Your Tomb&#8221;, released in 2021, shallow passages are also suddenly replaced by edgy riffs and epochal parts. At the same time, the band always has the emotions of its listeners firmly in its grip, demanding nothing less than complete devotion from them. We expect complete enthusiasm from you when SLEEP TOKEN transform FULL FORCE 2023 into a mystical place full of melancholic energy.

Sleep Token

SLOPE appear in a hectic jumble of hardcore, rap and funk on their current record &#8220;Street Heat&#8221;. The quintet from Duisburg has packed its first studio album with social criticism, recurring beat changes, retro sounds and groovy riffs. As icing on the cake, there are psychedelic borrowings, wild double bass action and funky melodies. With this congenial musical mosaic, they will put the audience through its paces at the upcoming FULL FORCE.

Slope

SOUL GLO take us through the wringer with their music. What they trigger are imaginary ear bleedings, irritated-fascinated grimaces and involuntary body spasms. The four-man band from Philadelphia is also extremely demanding in terms of content. Their agenda includes racism, capitalism and social grievances. Their music is not only boisterous and always on the verge of turning into a complete riot on their latest opus &#8220;Diaspora Problems&#8221;. Tempo changes, staccato vocals, screeching shouts, crazy riffs and insane drums &#8211; at most, the unexpected is expected here. And because we don&#8217;t just love surprise eggs, we&#8217;re only too happy to jump into the fray in front of the hardcore chaots&#8217; stage at FULL FORCE 2023.

Soul Glo

On their latest opus &#8220;20 Centuries Gone&#8221;, SPIRIT ADRIFT don&#8217;t shy away from anything. Not even a six-minute jolt called &#8220;Mass Formation Psychosis&#8221; or steam-rolling cover songs from Metallica to Type O Negative to Lynyrd Skynyrd. The heavy metal and doom metal band was formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 2015. Originally intended as a solo project by Nate Garrett, SPIRIT ADRIFT eventually evolved into a band. And this four-piece dragon is letting its fire-spitting breath down on us in Ferropolis in 2023.

Spirit Adrift

Believe the hype! Because SPIRITBOX are rightly creating a big splash in the metal universe. The paranormal runs through the creative work of the Canadian band like a red thread. The name alone goes back to a device that allows alleged conversations with the afterlife. Despite this proximity to death, the music of the combo is full of life. After several EPs and singles, their first album &#8220;Eternal Blue&#8221; was released in 2021. And it has it all: catchy choruses, djent and metalcore elements as well as electronic-atmospheric sounds are carried by the clear vocals and growls of singer Courtney LaPlante. We hope you will let yourselves be carried towards the stage by the hands of the other enthusiasts, when SPIRITBOX will enter the stage at FULL FORCE 2023.

Spiritbox

Oh my God! Did they really say that? Yes, they did. Because nothing is sacred to SPIRITWORLD when it comes to their lyrics. We can literally see Belzebub rubbing his hands together with a mischievous grin when the trio from Nevada throws around anti-Christian lyrics on their thrash-heavy debut album &#8220;Pagan Rhythms&#8221;, released in 2021. With dirty guitar riffs (greetings from SLAYER), wonderfully angry roars and tempo changes, the hardcore trinity makes their blasphemous baller bamboozle perfect. With their songs they hardly give us time to catch our breath. &#8220;Always on it&#8221; is their motto. A safety helmet in the pit is almost mandatory. Just like the appearance of the combo at FULL FORCE 2023.

Spiritworld

&#8220;Fuck everything and run&#8221; is what STAND ATLANTIC advise us with their album &#8220;f.e.a.r.&#8221; released in 2022. But what the four Australians unleash on us will absolutely not make you want to run away. Unless the running route leads directly into the pit. Trap beats, synthesizers, catchy choruses and a good portion of good mood summer sounds will stir up the imaginary dust in front of the FULL FORCE stages in 2023. We are simply too happy to be carried away by this. What does STATIC DRESS have to do with Marry Poppins? Not much. Apart from difficult to read word chain creations. What the fictional nanny&#8217;s &#8220;supercalifragilistikexpialigetisch&#8221; is, the post-hardcore formation calls &#8220;Unexplainabletitlesleavingyouwonderingwhy (welcome in)&#8221;. Since 2018, the quintet from Manchester has been up to mischief not only with orthographic refinements, but above all with musical brilliance. This is once again reflected on their latest record &#8220;Rogue Carpet Disaster&#8221;. Fans of vocal band-breaking screams, driving chaotic sound beds and classic pop-punk melodies will find their true joy in the album. Despite the many explosive moments, STATIC DRESS also build in quiet passages every now and then, but they rarely last long. So at this year&#8217;s FULL FORCE, stamina is needed in the mosh pit. Better take a breather before the band&#8217;s performance. Because once STATIC DRESS get going, no foot stays on the ground.

Static Dress

STRAY FROM THE PATH have never been squeamish. Not with their music nor in their lyrics. In their lyrics they like to denounce things that don&#8217;t agree with them. And there are quite a few of them in this world. Their latest record doesn’t carry the unmistakable title &#8220;Euthanasia&#8221; for no reason. On their tenth album, the four US-Americans release all their pent-up rage completely unconcealed. Once again they settle accounts with their homeland in their dystopian work, rigidly approaching society, the military or the police. They are not stingy with playful guitar riffs, uncompromising breakdowns and brute blast beats. In 2023 the four apocalyptic horsemen will gallop directly into our cozy FULL FORCE stud. So, throw your feet up in the air, be faster than your shadow and get ready for a hardcore rodeo.

Stray From The Path

The area of the Norwegian archipelago Spitsbergen is not exactly people-friendly. Unless you like to be on a first-name basis with polar bears, arctic climate, midnight suns and polar nights. Who we would like to shake hands with, on the other hand, is the English post-hardcore band SVALBARD. The name is the Norwegian meaning of the archipelago. The music of the four Brits is correspondingly cool and rugged, sloshing back and forth between black metal and post-rock. In the tension field of melancholy shouts and progressive riffs, a special dynamic develops. This can be heard, among other things, on &#8220;When I Die, Will I Get Better?&#8221;, their LP released in 2020. And they will have it in their bags when they’ll blow a stiff breeze around our noses with tracks like &#8220;Open Wound&#8221; or &#8220;The Currency Of Beauty&#8221; at FULL FORCE 2023.

Svalbard

Delicate as an elf, Katherine Shephard aka SYLVAINE floats in to envelop us in a cocoon of pure bliss with her lovely vocals. No sooner do we see ourselves prancing around in the dream magic land than a black metal broadside hits us, turning all imaginary flower meadows into sulfurous chasms. The musician also plays with this contrast on her fourth album &#8220;Nova&#8221;, released in 2022. In concrete terms, this means that in addition to melodic clear vocals, she repeatedly lapses into bitterly evil screeching. Atmospheric passages are interrupted by sudden tempo changes. And this is done for almost twelve minutes at a time. Also linguistically SYLVAINE lets off steam: Lyrics in English, Norwegian and a specially invented fantasy language send the brain synapses of their listeners into a wild polonaise. This illustrious circle dance can be taken to the next level at this year&#8217;s FULL FORCE. Because the multi-talent, who plays all instruments herself except for the drums, will transform Ferropolis into a black-melodic fantasy music spectacle in June. Without gold ring, but with Circle Pit.

Sylvaine

TERROR from Los Angeles are always welcome guests at FULL FORCE. The five-piece band&#8217;s sound combines juicy old school hardcore and distinct metal vibes, a mix that has always been a good blend for our lineup &#8211; such as in 2023!

Terror

When singer Cecilia Boström founded THE BABOON SHOW in 2003 together with Helen Lindberg, Håkan Sörle and Niclas Svensson, she wanted to really hit the shit. Because she is angry. At the Swedish government. At systems that exploit workers. At sexist people. With her band, she gives vent to her anger in the best punk rock manner &#8211; much to the delight of her fans. They love the energetic performances, the rhythmically hard guitars and the snotty vocals. Their last studio album, &#8220;Radio Rebelde,&#8221; was released in 2018, and since then THE BABOON SHOW have been regularly supplying us with new singles on an irregular basis, including the track &#8220;Womanarchist,&#8221; which was released in 2022. Those who give everyone the finger so beautifully have a permanent place in our hearts &#8211; and in the lineup of Full Force 2023.

The Baboon Show

The guys from THE BRONX are actually always a bit angry. The quintet from Los Angeles cherishes this tender feeling like a treasure. And rightly so. Because it&#8217;s this energetic snottiness that runs like a thread through the band&#8217;s more than 20-year history. With a lot of middle finger attitude, modern riffs and cleverly interspersed hardcore elements, the band has made a name for itself in the punk rock scene. 2021 saw the release of &#8220;Bronx VI&#8221;, another longplayer by the band. And this one goes forward properly. There comes the Mitgröhlen of all by itself. In addition to rough punk elements, there are some glam rock elements that are a bit smoother. Either way, THE BRONX are fun. And because we have fun at FULL FORCE 2023 virtually leased, THE BRONX are as sure as the Amen in the church.

The Bronx

THE HALO EFFECT are fireproof by nature. As former or current members of IN FLAMES, the five Swedes come directly from the sea of flames, so to speak. As melodic death metal firefighters and pioneers of the Gothenburg sound, the combo blows their glowing breath in our faces &#8211; in the form of their 2022 debut &#8220;Days Of The Lost&#8221;. This comes with melancholic choruses, scratchy growls, surprisingly clear vocals, driving riffs and catchy melodies. Exactly the stuff FULL FORCE dreams are made of. And we&#8217;ll simply fulfill them ourselves in 2023 and reserve THE HALO EFFECT a place in our line-up.

The Halo Effect

THE MENZINGERS stand for good old on-the-face rock. However, they are not averse to other musical styles. And so the four US-Americans from Philadelphia also like to include folk sounds on their records. In terms of content, they spout socially critical lyrics and political statements. This is the case on their latest and now sixth longplayer &#8220;From Exile&#8221;. In the re-release of the 2019 album &#8220;Hello Exile&#8221;, the twelve tracks were partly provided with different instruments and lyrics. So anything but a mere rehash. In any case, we&#8217;re keeping the stage warm for THE MENZINGERS at FULL FORCE 2023.

The Menzingers

Originally, THE SCRATCH were a classic metal band. But then the four-piece combo from Dublin exchanged their electronic equipment for acoustic instruments and proved that an intense, powerful sound can also be achieved without amplifiers. Crowdsurfing and wild mosh pits are part of the standard programme of every THE SCRATCH gig. On their latest album &#8220;Couldn&#8217;t Give A Rats&#8221;, the quartet mixes traditional Irish music with typical metal elements. Triumphant melodies are chased by vicious energy. Lyrically, THE SCRATCH are always on the threshold between wisdom and crazy word fanfares. They unleash both on us at FULL FORCE 2023. We are already hanging onto their lips.

The Scratch

TOUCHÉ AMORÉ have been making a big wave in the screamo scene since their formation in 2007. The five US-Americans are part of the hardcore band collective &#8220;The Wave&#8221; and ensnare us with shouted poetry. In their music, singer Jeremy Bolm processes his fears, his grief and shares intimate thoughts. With the album &#8220;Lament&#8221;, released in 2020, a high now seems to have dawned after this emotional descent. Because here TOUCHÉ AMORÉ strike almost optimistic tones. Pop-punky choruses full of sing-along character meet bright chords and partly very soft parts. In addition there are the usual strong melodies and big feelings. And they are made for the big stages. And since we have a few of them, one of them goes to TOUCHÉ AMORÉ in 2023.

Touché Amoré

Why do you need a label when you can tour? That&#8217;s what UNEARTH thought when they started their furious career in Massachusetts in 1998. And their plan worked. Fans soon flocked to the metalcore bards&#8217; shows. After the USA, they also left a lasting impression in Canada and Europe in the following years, which continues to this day. They have always delivered metal riff monsters, double-barreled guitar behemoths and furious butterfly shouts that send shivers of excitement down listeners&#8217; pogoing spines. Their last longplayer &#8220;Extinction(s)&#8221; is already five years old. How good that the combo came around the corner with the new single &#8220;The Wretched; The Ruinous&#8221; at the beginning of the year. With aggression, melody, darkness and power, the track gives a first foretaste of the upcoming album in classic UNEARTH style. And where could such a new album be celebrated better than at FULL FORCE 2023?

Unearth

Let us introduce you: UNITY TX. The four-piece band from the USA doesn&#8217;t beat around the bush. The single &#8220;Ruckus&#8221; from their 2019 album &#8220;Madboy&#8221; is just 1:06 minutes long. The current track &#8220;Burnout&#8221; is already closer to the usual listening habits. At least, as far as the length is concerned. The track is brutal and uncompromising, although it allows for space to catch your breath again and again with interposed quiet parts. Exactly what you need during a burnout. In addition to hard breaks, the hardcore dudes also know how to rap brutally. An act for wild stomping, grim jumping and consensual freaking out. So you know what to do at FULL FORCE 2023.

Unity TX

The apple doesn&#8217;t fall far from the tree. So they say. And in the case of VENDED, this saying is right on the money. Because singer Griffin Taylor and drummer Simon Crahan are the sons of SLIPKNOT veterans Corey Taylor and Shawn &#8220;Clown&#8221; Crahan. The band confidently fills the big kinship footsteps. In 2021, the five-piece released their first EP, &#8220;What Is It//Kill It.&#8221; The SLIPKNOT DNA is unmistakable, although the band knows how to add their own touches. With hard riffs, doomy breakdowns and furious shouts all five band members get enough space to let off steam. In 2023 they will bring the barrel to boil over at FULL FORCE.

Vended

VUKOVI is back. The Scottish duo brought their new record &#8220;Nula&#8221; with them. And it&#8217;s a science fiction adventure in music form. At the center is the main character Nula, who has been captured by a capitalist. The concept album is set 25 years after the captivity and deals with trauma, violence, lust and revenge. Musically, VUKOVI mix rock, punk, pop, nu-metal and lots of electro. Besides atmospheric synth elements, the tracks come with rough guitar riffs and trendy hooks. On the LP, singer Janine and guitarist Hamish lead the listeners into a fascinating world full of pain, joy, self-knowledge and liberation. And in 2023 VUKOVI will make Ferropolis the setting for their space odyssey.

Vukovi

What WARGASM does to our auditory canals is like jumping on a bulging blobber. You never know where it will catapult you. A little bit of punk here, a little bit of pop there and a pinch of metal on top &#8211; born is the unique mix of the London duo. Well audible are formative influences like SLIPKNOT or THE PRODIGY. Nevertheless, the tracks of WARGASM (UK) do not lack their own touch. After several singles they released their first album in 2022: &#8220;Explicit: The Mixxxtape&#8220;. It&#8217;s raw, dirty, blunt, but always coherent. We also think their name on our lineup 2023 is quite coherent.

Wargasm (UK)

Attention, attention, supergroup incoming. Because behind WAYS AWAY are BOYSETSFIRE drummer Jared Shavelson, STICK TO YOUR GUNS frontman Jesse Barnett, SAMIAM guitarist Sergie Loobkoff and RACQUET CLUB bassist Ian Smith, no less than four very well-known bands behind the members. With their mixture of alternative rock and post-hardcore, they ignite eleven musical flares on their 2022 album &#8220;Torch Songs&#8221; which includes fast, dark punk tracks as well as melodic numbers. The content is about anti-capitalism, life in the pandemic and the evergreen themes of love and loss. The band is a win for the 2023 FULL FORCE line-up. In this sense: All roads lead to FULL FORCE island.

Ways Away

When Lawrence Taylor screams in our faces, sleep is definitely out of the question. Although the name of his band may suggest otherwise. WHILE SHE SLEEPS are loud, energetic and simply go for it. And they are basically made for FULL FORCE. Because the five band members are more or less at home in steel and iron. Their home Sheffield is called &#8220;Steel City&#8221; and was the hub of the local heavy industry for a long time. There will be heavy metal to listen to when the hammering machines of WHILE SHE SLEEPS slam their new album &#8220;Sleeps Society&#8221; as well as well-known hits in front of us in 2023.

While She Sleeps

Founding ZSK was already punkrock. As Joshi, Nikki, Eike and Flori simply let chance decide the distribution of their instruments. The lot had decided and even brought the four guys a glorious future. Quickly there were first concerts, records and fans. Meanwhile, the Berliners have seven albums under their belt. In February 2023, the new LP &#8220;Hass↯Liebe&#8221; will be released. The already released title track already makes you want more. Here, ZSK lead our dependence on the digital world frighteningly clear with a driving rhythm and sing-along chorus. How lucky that we can celebrate the guys completely analog at FULL FORCE 2023. We&#8217;re already warming up for the four lovable snots.

ZULU is powerviolence par excellence. And yet the combo founded in 2019 by singer Anaiah Lei that was originally planned as a solo project, turns the genre upside down &#8211; or gives it a smashing head-butt. Contrary to the predominantly white bands in their genre, ZULU create a very real and brutal environment. The anger and frustration is not an attitude with ZULU, the topics in their lyrics have been personally experienced.
